Ticketmaster confirmed Thursday that the general sale of tickets has been cancelled. They were scheduled to go on sale on Friday.
"Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow's public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been cancelled," the company tweeted
The company provided no additional information concerning the concerns they highlighted, nor did it indicate whether more tickets would be sold in the future. .

Ticketmaster issued a statement detailing what went wrong shortly before cancelling the general sale on Thursday, blaming excessive demand and customers who went to the site without Verified Fan access passwords.
According to the company, over 3.5 million people pre-registered for a chance to win a Verified Fan access code, the most in the company's history.
